Trout, Triple Tails and Flounder!

After some horrendous weather and many postponed and cancelled trips the conditions turned around about Monday of last week. I have been given many great reports on trout and triple tails as well some of our other warm weather finned friends showing up.

I fished with some awesome folks these past few days and had a blast. All trips consisted of the "marsh sampler" where we bounced around targeting the trifecta of trout, trips, and flatties. (yes, it's flounder pounder time!) Some of UGA's finest, Cole Clint, and Moon started the week out on a pretty decent trout bite and then took turns picking off triple tails. The next day, David continued the streak with a true trifecta with a nice 23" trout which he gladly released. David then quickly picked off 3 flounder with the deadly 4" Gulp swimming mullet. With time dwindling we made the run and David kept his mojo going with some nice tt's including one for the grill. Richard and Dana jumped on the flounder with the artificials the next day, and had 8 to the boat quickly, with 6 being nice keepers. From there the mission was to look for a few of the bigger trout that have been showing. We may have missed our best window pounding flounders, but Dana and Richard worked hard looking for two good bites and big specks. Finally Richard picks off a nice 18" speck, but Dana followed with a beauty at just under 20".

Gotta thank all the anglers for some amazing days in the marsh, and a special thanks to Richard for a gallon of the best North Georgia Peach Potion I have ever sipped on! Looks like some good water and good tides for the next 10 days so...you won't know if you don't go!
